Over the Easter weekend, with the abundance of all sorts of Easter egg imagery around, I had the urge to paint some eggs. So I got a pack of Woolworths chocolate candy-coated eggs and painted them using food colouring, so that they could still be eaten afterwards of course! It was a fun and interesting process, seeing how the food colouring reacted with the chalky texture of the
candy coating, and mixed with the white of the candy as I painted, and getting the right consistency so that the colouring didn’t “bleed”. Also of course working with the shape of the egg, going around it and holding it while trying not to smudge the bits that were wet. Pretty pleased with the end results.
