I worked on this lovely protea themed wedding stationery set for a couple from Cape Town. The groom is a botanist, so the dissected protea for the Save the Date was a nod to that. It’s also a play on

the symbolism of the couple coming together as individuals to become part of one team, seen as the full proteas on the invitation. The illustrations were all hand painted in watercolour.

I created this poster as a gift for a creative friend using vector line illustration. The design was inspired by craft materials like needles, thread, buttons and embroidery scissors, and integrated with botanical elements.

The Ultimate Resistance Mini Zine

This was the first zine I created. It’s about 4 x 5,5cm in size, staple bound with a kraft board cover, illustrated completely by hand in ink and watercolour paint. Due to the nature of this one it’s probably a one-off, although I plan to do more in different styles

that would be more reproducible. The topic for this one was “Ultimate Resistance”, referring to the delicious foods that plague my brain, and that I have to use all my willpower to resist, on a daily basis.

In 2013 I started creating free printable monthly calendars for my blog readers. Each month’s header is completely different, allowing me to experiment with different illustration and lettering styles and craft techniques. All of them have been hand drawn, mostly traditionally and sometimes digitally, using mediums

including watercolour paint, ink, pen, embroidery, paper cutting, coloured pencil and photography.

I’m still creating these on my blog every month, as well as monthly exclusive freebies for my Lucky Packet email subscription.

Personalised Hand Lettered Client Cards

I created these personalised hand lettered cards for my clients a few years back. I thought it would be fun to give them a pack of my favourite coffee beans from a local coffee shop, since coffee is a part of so many people’s lives, especially creatives and small businesses working hard. The idea was to use their name and make it look like their own special coffee blend. I really wanted to make it very personal and make it look like something they’d be excited to receive and want to keep, just as a little thank you for being great. I created some packaging to fit the beans into, and it turned out quite well. I really enjoyed creating these, it was such a fun side project.
