WORKSHOPS

I host various creative workshops, mostly in Durban, South Africa. These are aimed at beginners or those just looking for a space to create and are technique-focussed, which means that I teach methods and techniques that allow attendees to create their own unique end results along a chosen theme, with personal guidance from me. I encourage people to discover andlean into their own strengths and styles instead of forcing a predefined specific outcome for everyone.
More than just a painting class, my workshops are designed to be a delightful personalised mini retreat for a few hours of escape from stress and daily life.
To attend a public workshop, sign up to the workshop emailer below to get first updates on upcoming workshops and special offers from time to time. To book a private group, one-on-one or corporate workshop drop me a mail via my contact page. When public workshops are available they’ll be bookable via my shop page.

What attendees have said about my workshops…
“I would say that it is definitely worth it – that I found it relaxing – and I am glad to have a simple relaxing new skill that I can work on easily. I would also say that it is so different to other types of art where things can get messy and there’s more time spent cleaning up than actually doing the work. This is great because you can use the Aquash brush anywhere!”
“I described it as a must have experience for anyone that loves lettering. I loved every minute of it. And felt that I learnt a lot and gained a skill I didn’t know I had.”
“Would definitely recommend… never thought I would leave and actually be able to do it myself without any guidance by the end! Going to be my new “me time” skill.”
“I found it an amazing experience to be alone and focus on doing something totally out of my comfort zone. There’s no judgement only support and encouragement. It was an amazing experience.”
“I wasn’t sure what to expect but was delighted with how comfortable I was made to feel, how natural the technique felt and how quickly we got results.”
“It made me feel proud of something I created and reminded me to take time out and do the things I really enjoy.”

With a course structured to suit beginners and practice intermediate abilities, this intimate workshop will give you the skills needed to confidently create your own unique lettering to take your personal and professional projects to the next level. You’ll also have the resources to further practice and experiment on your own afterwards with the right materials, practice sheets and written guides.
The brush lettering workshops are usually around 3,5hrs long with public workshops, limited to 10 people. The limited number of people per workshop ensures that I have time to personally help each person and keep the vibe casual and friendly. You’ll choose your favourite short phrase or quote to bring with you, and by the end of the workshop you’ll create your own beautifully brush lettered masterpiece to take home with you.
You’ll have the option to use the materials in the session only, or to get a brush lettering art materials starter pack that you’ll get to take home (valued at approx. R480) and a workbook created by me especially for you which will cover everything learnt in the workshop.

A relaxed workshop that goes through basic watercolour mark-making techniques you can use as a total beginner to create beautiful loose floral effects.
